Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your interest in Global Village School. We want to be as transparent as possible so you can make the absolute best decisions for your family. We are receiving an unprecedented level of interest in our offerings. We knew there might be increased inquiries, but the sheer volume has been both gratifying and overwhelming.
Our program is very near capacity (details on that below). We do expect openings to occur gradually, but we cannot admit many more at this time. (K8 is temporarily full; there is still some room in the high school program.) Likely, the families we end up filling future K-8 slots with have already applied for admission. We apologize if this has caught you by surprise. All of this sudden interest caught us by surprise as well; in the beginning, we moved inquiries and applicants along per usual, under the assumption that the spike in interest would level off reasonably quickly, and we’d be able to accommodate most everyone with a little juggling.

Instead, the spike has gotten steeper by the day. We are doing our absolute best to assess our current and future capacity. Our priorities are to re-enroll our current students, finish the enrollment process with our recently accepted families, and fulfill a backlog of orders for our Whole Child, Healthy Planet curriculum guides, all while continuing to serve our current students. If we could accept more of you, we certainly would. We prioritize notions of justice, compassion, and sustainability in our educational philosophy. These are not just abstract concepts; they are the guiding lights that call us to be mindful of the overall sustainability of Global Village School and the well-being of our staff.
After much thought, we have accepted the reality that the ever-increasing volume of emails and phone calls has far surpassed our capacity to respond. We don't come to this conclusion lightly. We have been operating for over 20 years, responding to every email and phone call promptly, but it simply isn’t possible to continue. 

Here is the course of action we’ve decided on:

Phone calls in general
We cannot answer phone inquiries at this time; please email us instead. If you call and leave a message, it’s doubtful that we will be able to call you back. We can move through emails at a significantly faster pace than phone calls, partly because our staff doesn’t have to take the time to document the calls. The emails will be there when we have a chance to catch up on data entry, which will be vital as we sift through the enrollment applications.

ENROLLMENT: High School inquiries 
We do still have a few openings in our high school program. If you are interested in enrolling, please EMAIL us with the subject line “High school.” We will answer your questions as swiftly as we can. We understand that it may feel necessary to get a feel for us over the phone, and we think the same way, but we need to start with email. After you get your initial questions answered, if you feel you would like to move forward with applying, we will schedule a time to talk with you.

ENROLLMENT: K8 Enrollment inquiries
Our K-8 program is currently full. We expect to have a few openings in August and a few more in the following months. We have already received so many inquiries, representing way more students than we could accept. Given that, it doesn’t make sense for us to continue to reply to the flood of K-8 inquiries. We cannot answer questions about our K8 program at this time. It’s very heart-wrenching to be in this position; we know people are feeling high levels of anxiety as they look for suitable solutions for their children. We are very moved by the stories people are sharing. We wish we could do more, but we simply cannot.
If, having read all this, you still want your K-8 grade child(ren) to apply for entry into Global Village School, then please send us an email with the subject line “Place me on the waitlist.” We will keep your information on file, and as openings become available, we will reach out to you in the order in which we receive your request. 
We apologize for needing to do this. We very much understand if you need to make other arrangements, and we wish you the best in your search.

CURRICULUM ORDERS: K-8 Curriculum Guides
The number of curriculum only requests surged along with interest in enrollment, and we expect that there may be even more people considering this option given our limited enrollment capacity. If you wish to purchase one of our K-8 curriculum guides, you may do so online. Please carefully review the descriptions for each grade level of interest and pay particular attention to the sections that outline what our guides are and are not, along with a summary designed to help you decide if our guides are a good fit for your family. We also offer extensive samples of our guides – note that while they are from Version 11, they are still an accurate reflection of the quality of content and guidance you can expect from our guides, which on average, are more than 115 pages long.
As you can see, we work hard to describe our curriculum guides clearly so you can make the best decision for your family. We completely understand that people may have additional questions, but we are not able to respond to more questions about the curriculum at this time. We realize that this will likely lead some to forgo purchasing. That’s understandable, and we care about your success far more than we do about selling you things, so if it doesn’t feel right, please act accordingly.
If, after reviewing the information above along with our refund policy, you feel comfortable ordering curriculum guides now, you can do that here. 
We will ship it out to you as quickly as we can, but it may take a week or so. If you can wait for a while, we may be able to start answering questions about the K-8 guides again once we catch our breath.

CURRICULUM ORDERS: High School Curriculum Guides
Once again, we apologize for not being able to continue fielding questions about the guides. After reviewing the course descriptions and sample content, if you are interested in purchasing our high school curriculum only, please email us with the subject line “HS Curriculum,” along with the names of the courses you wish to purchase. Note that each course listing indicates whether or not it is available for purchase to use on your own. Once we receive your email, we will send you a Paypal invoice and further instructions as soon as we are able, but it may take a week or so.

Thank you very much for your patience. We are aware that these are very intense and stressful times, and we are doing our best not to add to that burden. We hope to be able to work with some of you over time, but this is very much a fluid situation. If you are not comfortable waiting and feel that you need to make other arrangements now, please know that we wish you and your family all the very best. We will be here in the future if you find our educational philosophy still calls to you in the coming years.
