Admissions Policy

Please note that we are a selective admissions program - applicants go through a review process and are not automatically enrolled simply by virtue of applying. We reserve the right to deny enrollment for any reason, though we operate within the confines of our non-discrimination policy.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Global Village School does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), sex, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, educational policies, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of any and all other services. Students of all backgrounds are accorded the same rights, privileges, access to programs, etc. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

Refund Policy

At Global Village School, we make every effort to ensure that your experience is an enriching and successful one, and a good deal of work goes into welcoming new students and their families to Global Village School.  However, we understand there will be times when returning curriculum or withdrawing from school is the best choice for your family. If you are a currently enrolled family, please consult your Parent Handbook for options other than withdrawal that might work for your family's circumstances.

​Global Village School is a non-profit organization operating under the auspices (commonly called fiscal sponsorship) of a larger non-profit umbrella organization called Community Partners (CP). CP receives a percentage of all incoming funds in exchange for the administrative support they provide, and payment processing companies like PayPal take their portion as well. 

​We cannot execute credit card reversals that will return the full balance of your payment, whether you request a refund hours after payment or a week later. So please be sure you feel good about your decision to enroll or purchase curriculum from us before you pay. ​We will refund enrollment, curriculum, and tuition fees in the following ways upon written request. Prices & policy are subject to change.


Withdrawing from Global Village School
To withdraw your child’s enrollment in Global Village School or in a Global Village course, you must send a letter, fax, or email to the Global Village office informing us. Withdrawal is officially recognized only upon receipt of written notification and must be confirmed by a Global Village office staff member. The date written notification is received will serve as the official date of separation. It can take up to 30 business days after the school receives notification of a withdrawal before the exit process is completed and your refund (if applicable) is issued.

Withdrawing from K-8
For standard (not an early enrollment) accounts paid-in-full, if you request a refund within the first 60 days of your tuition start date, 75% of the tuition fee is refundable to you. If digital, you retain access to the curriculum guides in as-in condition (no updates) until what would have been the end of your enrollment period. In an effort to minimize travel and shipping costs for you (and to simplify refund calculations for us), you are not required to return printed guides, and we do not issue "curriculum only," refunds.

61 or more days after your tuition start date (the day it begins is day 1) no refunds are available.

For accounts on standard payment plans, if you request a refund within the first 60 days of your tuition start date, 50% of the initial down payment is refundable to you and the payment agreement will be terminated. Any administrative fees associated with monthly payments made before the withdrawal date are nonrefundable.

61 or more days after your tuition start date (the day it begins is day 1), no tuition refund is available, and payment plan agreements remain in effect until the balance is paid in full.

For families taking advantage of early enrollment or otherwise withdrawing before the tuition start date, please note that those funds are already accounted for in our non-profit budget projections. If you request a refund before your tuition begins, the early enrollment deposit is non-refundable and we keep a small portion of the tuition paid per student to partially cover the costs associated with re-working our budget and reporting to our fiscal sponsor. Associated payment plan agreements will be terminated.

For grades K-3: $500 is non-refundable.
For grades 4-6: $650 is non-refundable.
For grades 7-8: $725 is non-refundable.

Withdrawing from High School
The following policy applies to our Soar and Eagle HS programs:

For standard (not early enrollment) accounts paid-in-full, if you request a refund within the first 60 days of your tuition start date, 75% of the tuition fee is refundable to you. If digital, you retain access to the curriculum guides in as-in condition (no updates) until what would have been the end of your enrollment period. K-8: Curriculum Only Purchases
Due to the ever increasing volume of orders and the impact of COVID-19 on our organization, curriculum guide purchases are temporarily non-refundable and the policy below does not apply.

For families who purchased K-4th grade curriculum only, $40 plus 3%** of the purchase price per guide is non-refundable. For the balance, the following refund policy applies:
If you are not fully satisfied with a book or study guide, you can return it within 30 days (postmarked within 30 days from the date the curriculum was sent to you) for a refund. Contact the Global Village office for authorization and instructions for book returns. You will be responsible for return shipping costs and the original shipping fee is non-refundable. The total amount of the refund may vary depending upon the condition of the returned materials. On and after day 31, no curriculum refund is available.

For families who purchased 5th-8th grade curriculum only, $50 plus 3%** of the purchase price per guide is non-refundable. For the balance, the following refund policy applies:
If you are not fully satisfied with a book or study guide, you can return it within 30 days (postmarked within 30 days from the date the curriculum was sent to you) for a refund. Contact the Global Village office for authorization and instructions for book returns. You will be responsible for return shipping costs and the original shipping fee is non-refundable. The total amount of the refund may vary depending upon the condition of the returned materials. High School: Curriculum Only Purchases
Curriculum guide purchases are temporarily non-refundable and the policy below does not apply.

20% of the purchase price or $15, whichever is higher, per course/portfolio is non-refundable. 

If you are not fully satisfied with a book or printed study guide, you can return it within 30 days (postmarked within 30 days from the date the curriculum was sent to you) for a refund. Contact the Global Village office for authorization and instructions for book or study guide returns. The total amount of the refund may vary depending upon the condition of the returned materials. You will be responsible for return shipping costs. On and after day 31, no curriculum refund is available.

If you are not fully satisfied with the curriculum available for download, the same policy applies except for reference to physically returning curriculum​. Accepting a refund for digital goods means you agree to respect our copyright by permanently deleting our intellectual property from any and all devices, apps, or accounts. If you created a printed version for your own personal use (all other physical reproductions are prohibited), accepting a refund means you agree to destroy any and all such copies.

The Company does not warrant that the service from this site will be uninterrupted, timely or error free, although it is provided to the best ability. The safety of children using globalvillageschool.org is of the utmost concern to us. We comply strictly with applicable laws and regulations, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, for the protection of children’s online privacy. We will not:

We will not retain a child’s email address without a parent’s permission. No information collected from students or visitors under 13 years of age is used for any marketing or promotional purposes whatsoever. We do not allow students or visitors under 13 years of age to be listed in any student or visitor directory without parental consent, nor to receive direct marketing communications or to be sent third-party offers.

Parents’ Right to Review or Delete Information
A parent may review the information a child has submitted to us by sending us a written request addressed to Privacy Policy, Global Village School, P.O. Box 480, Ojai CA, 93024. The request must include the name and address of the child, the child’s password, and any other information that will allow us to verify that the writer is the parent of the child whose information is being sought. In addition, a parent can instruct us to delete a child’s information at any time and can also instruct us not to collect further personal information from the child by sending us a written request at the above address. All such deletion requests may preclude the child’s participation in certain activities.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of June 16, 2015 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.
