Foundation for Educational Renewal - The Foundation for Educational
Renewal, Inc, is a nonprofit 501c(3) organization

is not affiliated with any institution, partisan
interest group, or particular educational movement,
but aims to stimulate dialogue and build bridges
among diverse educators, parents, scholars, policymakers,

GLSEN (Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network) - "Teaching

Justice Learning - A collaboration of NPRís Justice Talking
and the New York Times Learning Network, Justice
Learning presents lessons and resources for "civic
education in the real world." Covers topics such
as civil liberties, gun control, the death penalty,

NAME (National Association for Multicultural Education) - Advocates
for educational equity and social justice.
NCEA (National Coalition of Education Activists) - a multiracial
network and membership organization of parents,
school staff, union and community activists, and
children's advocates working for equitable and excellent

NCACS - The National Coalition of Alternative Community Schools
- Our mission is to unite and organize a grassroots

Oregon PeaceWorks - Their
mission: To educate and activate people to work
for peace, justice and environmental protection.
Peace Brigades - (PBI) is
a non-governmental organization (NGO) which protects
human rights and promotes nonviolent transformation
of conflicts. When invited, PBI sends teams of volunteers
into areas of repression and conflict. The volunteers
accompany human rights defenders, their organizations
and others threatened by political violence. Perpetrators
of human rights abuses usually do not want the world
to witness their actions. The presence of volunteers
backed by a support network helps to deter violence.
PBI creates space for local activists to work for
social justice and human rights. Currently, PBI
has volunteers protecting human rights activists
in Colombia, Indonesia, and Mexico, as well as a
project restarting in Guatemala and a joint project
with other organizations in Chiapas, Mexico..
Peace Takes Courage -
Ava Lowery is the 16 year old peace activist from
Alabama behind the website, PeaceTakesCourage.com,
and has received an amazing amount of attention.
Ava's animations show the multidimensional tragedy
of the Iraq war- losses of brave young soldiers
to American families, and loss of innocent civilians
in Iraq.
PEACEIncorporated - Primary focus
is on increasing peace by providing youth empowered
solutions and alternatives to destructive behavior.
