High School Diploma Program: Enrollment & Fees

Enrollment Options           Fees

Enrollment Options:

High school diploma program enrollment includes official enrollment in a legal private school, the maintenance of transcripts and records, consultations with our enrollment advisors, and other administrative costs.

There are three enrollment options for the high school diploma program:

1. Enroll as a full-time student in our regular academic program

When you enroll in Global Village School you become part of a legal private school. We will maintain all student records, along with providing written semester evaluations, a yearly transcript, and a diploma upon graduation from our high school diploma program.

Each student is assigned Global Village teachers for all their academic courses. Our teachers are knowledgeable, compassionate, supportive, and committed to the vision of the school. You can contact our teachers by phone, fax, and e-mail, or schedule in-person appointments if you live in the local area. Along with regularly scheduled appointments, teachers are happy to answer questions when they arise.

Each family will work with an enrollment advisor to design the most appropriate program. The advisor will be available throughout the year to answer questions and provide support.

Call our office to make a phone or in-person appointment with one of our educational advisors, who will enroll your family, help you select a curriculum, answer your questions, and provide you with additional information.

2. Enroll as a full-time student in our unschooling program

Some students are already very independent learners; they know what they want to learn and how to go about it. Some families have been traditional homeschoolers for years and already know how to provide an excellent learning environment for their children. At Global Village we acknowledge and support the value of this type of education. We will work with you in designing and documenting a non-traditional unschooling program that meets legal requirements as well as the unique needs and interests of your family. You can purchase any Global Village courses that interest you, as well as designing your own.

3. Dual Enrollment for students attending other schools who wish to take individual GVS courses

Take Global Village courses for credit while enrolled at another school. Check with your school first to make sure they will accept the credits. Please note that this option does not include full enrollment in Global Village School. Dual enrollment is for families that do not wish for Global Village to be the official school of record. We provide transcripts and evaluations for the courses you take with us, but do not review or include any other coursework on the transcript.

Fees:

Rather than setting a standard fee for everyone, we have set up our system so that families only pay for what they need.

All enrolled students pay the following each year:

Enrollment fee Regular & Unschooling enrollment: $450 for a year, $325 for a semester. Dual enrollment: $150 per year-long course, $100 per semester or quarter course (please see the enrollment options descriptions above), and

Curriculum costs that vary according to the courses you choose (please see our curriculum page for prices and details for each course) and

Tuition fee for each course that varies according to the level of teacher support (please see our tuition page for prices and details on the tuition options)

Sales tax (CA residents only) and shipping and handling are additional.

Examples of typical enrolled student costs can be found at the bottom of this page.

There may be additional fees depending on your situation:

New Student Registration Deposit: Students who are new to the GVS high school homeschooling pay a one-time New Student Registration Deposit of $100. This fee covers some of the cost of new student enrollment counseling and the learning styles profile and will be applied toward the cost of enrollment. For example, a family taking advantage of Regular enrollment for a year ($450) would pay the new student deposit ($100) before the first enrollment counseling appointment and the remaining $350 upon enrollment. This fee is non-refundable.

Senior fee: There is an increased amount of administrative work associated with a graduating student. The Senior Fee of $175 ($275 for international students) applies to all 12th grade students. This fee is non-refundable.

Transcript Evaluation Fee (optional): Families considering enrollment can review our graduation requirements. If you are considering enrolling in Global Village and want our staff to do an assessment for you before you enroll, then there is a Transcript Evaluation Fee of $40. This fee covers part of the cost of evaluating previous high school courses and determining a path toward GVS graduation. The one-time Transcript Evaluation Fee is for families who are not yet enrolled, and is non-refundable.

All fees are in U.S. dollars.
