Purchasing Curriculum Only

Putting together a well-rounded curricular plan is quite a bit of work. Most families choose to enroll so they can take advantage of our teacher services and administrative record keeping. Some families are experienced homeschoolers who are comfortable teaching their children but need help putting together curriculum. Global Village School offers a number of options to families looking for curriculum only.

If you already have a curriculum plan you want to use but want to run it by an experienced educator to review for grade level appropriateness, content, etc., please see our Design Your Own Curriculum sections for K-8 and high school. If you don't wish to enroll but would like to work with with us to create a customized curriculum plan for your family please see our customized curriculum page. Purchasing K-8 Whole Child, Healthy Planet Curriculum

Curriculum Guide Contents:

Each grade level contains core resources plus many extras - most likely much more than you will be able to get through in a year. Each curriculum guide includes:

(1) Resource List: A detailed list of books and resources for the year, along with information on where to get them.

(2) Instructions: Grades K-4 have a detailed sample lesson/unit plan along with several articles about how to work with the curriculum resources. Grades 4-8 include pages of suggestions on how to create lessons and activities using the core texts.

(3) Scheduling: Grades 4-8 have recommendations on how to schedule the various materials and activities into 9 month-long units. Since there are so many different ways the resources for younger grades can be utilized Grades K-3 have more free-form recommendations.

(4) Support: General information on the Global Village School Whole Child Healthy Planet method, including articles and coaching tips for parents. These sections will teach you about homeschooling in general and help you make the most of the program materials and guide you through assessment, etc.

(5) Many useful and fun extras including two supplemental reading lists.

We do not provide the books and other resource materials, since we prefer to give each family the option of buying them used or using books from their local library. Global Village School offers an extensive array of high school courses in all of the major subject areas along with peace and diversity studies courses. If you wish to purchase high school curriculum only please check out the course prices and descriptions.
